Update – CDOT notified that it’s reopened in both directions. U.S. 36 closed part of Monday due to accident
Town of Estes Park Public Information Officer Kate Rusch says that the Town has been informed by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) that both directions of U.S. 36 are currently closed due to an accident.
As of 5 p.m. on June 8 the road was still closed as crews continue to clean up the road.
It was a single-vehicle accident that involved a 41-year-old male who was not injured.
Colorado State Patrol said they got the call at 1:59 p.m. of a 2016 Peterbilt truck and trailer that had tipped over and blocked U.S. 36 north of Lyons around mile marker 16.
The road is now open to traffic in both directions.
